Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents

Good evening all!

The term is racing by, we have had a full few weeks and our students have been enjoying showing the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils   from our feeder schools around the place. There has been an air of excitement all around  and the prefects are really living up to their role model image.  This will culminate with OPEN Evening next Wednesday 25th at 4.30-6.60pm. so if you have or know of a young potential pupil , please send them along. 

Just to as a reminder to you that attendance is always an important item in the daily business of Mercy College. And so at our Parents Association Meeting PTM last they agreed to to put together a pamplet giving tips to inspire  other parents and students, with coming to school. So since all parents and guardians are part of the PTA, we want to invite you to contribute any advice, tips or stories related to coming to  overcoming challenges in coming to school and we can include them in our upcoming pamplet. Just send them to me at hscl@mercybeaumont.com. Or text me at 086 1857703. Your experience and insights are invaluable.

The Craft Class and the Yoga Class are starting next Tuesday and Wednesday , 24th and 25th of September respectively bioth at 9.30 am. Come 10 minutes earlier as we will want to register you on both days. Please let me know on the above mobile number if you want to join the classes, even if you can’t make it the first week. The more people to attend the more likely we will keep the classes running.

We will be running a parents coffee social for the parents of the first and second year maths classes. The Maths teachers will be attending to offer advice and answer any questions you might have on tricky maths homework or current  approaches to maths. This will be on the 3rd of OCtober 10am-11am.  See the poster above.

The National Parents Council (NPC) are offering FREE Internet safety sessions designed to provide parents with the knowledge and tools needed to protect their child online. The session aims to provide practical steps to safeguard your child’s online activities; support parents to understand the digital landscape for children; provide expert advice from leading internet safety professionals. A Q&A will be embedded into the session.  Sessions will be taking place online via Zoom on the following dates:

·         Tuesday 17th – Thursday 19th of September at 10am and 7:30pm

·         Friday 20th of September 2024 at 10am.

ADHD Ireland Online Conference for Parents 2024

In celebration of October being ADHD Awareness Month. ADHD Ireland will hold their 4th annual

International ADHD Conference online. The conference aims to gather parents and adults who live with

or support someone who lives with ADHD. The online event will showcase valuable information,

positive stories and experiences. This conference will take place online on October 10

 

th from 5pm.
