The diary is filling up and I have some events I would like to share with you.
17th of September -the AGM for the Parents Network will be a 7pm in the school library. All parents are members of this association and everyone is especially welcome to the AGM. The roles of chairperson, secretary and treasurer are up for renewal. If you have experience or would like experience chairing a committee please put yourself forward for nomination. A chairperson should be commited to regular meetings(1 per term), inclusive and encouraging towards other parents, be a good comunicator and organiser. A secretary will notify parents about meetings and post the agenda in advance. They will take minutes at meetings and send them to members soon after.The treasurer will be charged with banking keeping account and going to the bank.
After the meeting at 7pm, Monica Rowe will give a talk for Parents/guardians/grandparents in the library. Monica has been working with young people for over 30 years. She trained as a Childline Facilitator and worked for the ISPCC/Childline for a number of years as their Schools Liaison Officer. She is now founder and director of Key Conversations, a communications business that focuses on teaching people the skills to cope with change, build relationships and develop a strong self-image.Monica spoke to the first and second years earlier in the week and to reinforce the message and take the adult angle, she will give parents advice and tips in a fascinating workshop. So please come along, you will be glad you did.
Yoga class with Eibhinn will be beginning once again on Tuesday 23rd Sept. next, Room 34 will be the venue as this room will be venue for parents workshops this year. Remember the class is complementary to all parents/guardians and grandparents.Click the link here to register your interest
The Parents Club will be getting going again on Wednesday Oct 1 of October. It will run from11am until 1pm each week. This time is for parents to relax and explore different activities such as crafts, food, mindfulness methods , self improvement and to meet other parents. If you have a couple of hours free on a Wednesday morning we would be delighted to have you join our group.
