Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents

November 11, 2025

Good evening all, the days are getting shorter and the nights cosier. To celebrate the oncoming festive season, I am aiming to run a Christmas crafts Workshop for Parents Guardians and Grandparents on the 3rd of December. It will be a nice way to  do something creative for yourself and get the festive feeling. Please add your email to the google form to register your interest.

Parents Club tomorrow, you can drop in to  the parents room  for a word in my ear if you like or meet other parents /guardians. Coffee(tea) will be served. If you have any ideas to share about parent activities that would be great. In the new year we will have Clay crafts/AI workshop / an introduction to Irish for parents/guardians etc.

College Awareness Week

A team from DCU will be in the school on Wednesday 26th of November at 7pm. The team will be giving information on the U First Programme along with the HEAR and Dare schemes. For any families who haven’t gone to college before this is a great opportunity to find out the details of the suppports available for their budding student. Anyone unfamiliar with the Irish eduacation should avail of this opportunity too. We would encourage parents to find out the information early on, so if your daughter is in third year or younger this is a great way to give them some direction. That talk will be in the school library. And if you can’t make it on the night ,on Wednesday November 19th at 7:30pm there will be a free Parents Webinar run by Joan Broderick from Pathways.ie. This is in addition to our HEAR and DARE webinar for senior cycle students on November 18th at 10:30am.

Register for the Pathways Parents webinar and find more information here.

Register here for the HEAR and Dare webinar so your students can join the call. All who register will also receive a recording of the webinar.

Don’t forget to log your events at collegeaware.ie to receive merchandise.
