We are thrilled to share a highlight from our recent calendar – the visit of Zak Moradi to Our Lady of Mercy College Beaumont on Thursday, 27 November.
Zak, a Kurdish-Irish hurler and inspirational speaker, brought his powerful story of resilience and belonging to our students. His journey, marked by remarkable courage and determination, has made him a recognised voice on themes that sit at the very heart of our school community.
During his time with us, Zak spoke openly about overcoming adversity, developing self-confidence, and the vital role that community plays in shaping who we become. What made his message particularly impactful was its authenticity – he shared his experiences in a way that was honest, grounded, and deeply relevant to the lives our students are living right now.
Our students were engaged and moved by Zak’s words. His story served as a powerful reminder that challenges can be transformed into sources of strength, and that belonging is something we build together through kindness, inclusion and mutual support. Many thanks to Mr. Rodin Ozalp for orgaising this event.
We are grateful to Zak for sharing his time and his story with us, and for reinforcing the values of resilience, respect and community that define Our Lady of Mercy College Beaumont.
