Good Morning,
We hope this message finds you well. A little reminder that the school is closed on the 16th and 17th of March.
We would also like to ask all Parents and Guardians to help in the coming weeks with your encouragement for your child’s attendance. There are 35 school days left until the Summer exams which start on the 25th May. We understand that students may be unwell, have unavoidable appointments or family commitments from time to time. If you ever wish to discuss your child’s attendance or barriers to their attendance please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are running an attendance campaign with the aim for students to strive for 90% or higher attendance from 18th March – 15th May, 30 school days. 90% attendance allows for missing 3 days in this time frame. Students who achieve this mark will be entered into a raffle for various vouchers. The coming weeks in school have many activities coming up which make achieving 90% attendance or higher very achievable. Each week students who have 100% attendance for the previous week will see their name on our digital noticeboard in school.
Loads of activities to break up the weeks
A recent report from the ESRI has found that students with higher absenteeism have lower grades in school work and they also find making connections with peers more difficult, finding it more difficult to trust people. High levels of absenteeism in school can affect an individual’s health and wellbeing in later life.
Your child’s future starts now. Attend Today and Achieve Tomorrow.
We appreciate your assistance with this campaign and if you need to get in touch with regard to your child’s attendance please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards,
The Attendance Team
