Each year group is led by a Year Head who holds overall responsibility for student attendance, punctuality, and general conduct within their designated year group. Year Heads oversee the pastoral, learning, and behavioural needs of students and are supported through regular meetings with the Principal and Deputy Principal, as well as collaboration with the Care Team.
Every class is assigned a Class Tutor who works closely with the Year Head to address emerging issues. Where practicable, Class Tutors remain with their class throughout the students’ entire journey at the school.
The Career Guidance Counsellor plays a pivotal role in the school community, providing continuous support and counselling to meet all students’ career-related needs. Throughout their lives, young people face significant decisions that impact both themselves and those around them. For second-level students, these choices center on three key areas:
Our Special Education Teachers provide support to students with diverse additional educational needs through cooperative teaching, small withdrawal groups, and, when appropriate, one-to-one instruction.

The School Guidance Counsellor provides personal, vocational, and educational guidance through both one-to-one sessions and group settings. As a distinctive feature of Mercy Beaumont, we offer a Guidance module at every year level, covering topics including self-management, study skills, self-care, anxiety management, anti-bullying strategies, and mindfulness practices.
Each First Year class is supported by two designated Sixth Year Prefects who have received specialised training in mentoring and supporting students through their transition from primary to post-primary education.
Through funding received from the Department of Social Protection, breakfast provisions are available to all students. Breakfast baskets containing healthy options—including fruit juices, apples, oat biscuits, rice cakes, and wheaten pancakes—are accessible at various locations throughout the school each day.
Our Lady of Mercy College participates in the School Meals Programme, providing daily lunch for students. Meals include a variety of nutritious options such as salads, scones, croissants, sandwiches, wraps, fresh fruit, and fruit juice.
Our Home School Community Liaison Coordinator organises courses for parents in areas including yoga, gardening, computing, and parenting skills. The Coordinator also conducts home visits to provide support to both parents and students, connecting families with valuable community resources such as local youth clubs and counselling services.
