Dear Parents/Guardians of 6th Year Students,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you about the examination fees for the Leaving Certificate 2026.
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) fee for the official Leaving Certificate exams is €116 per candidate. This fee will be paid online through the Candidate Self Service Portal (CSSP), with registration typically opening between late October and early November 2025.
Please note that candidates or parents/guardians holding a full medical card valid between January 1, 2026, and April 30, 2026, are exempt from this fee. GP visit cards do not qualify for exemption. The temporary fee waiver that applied in previous years is no longer in place for 2026.
Additionally, our school mock examinations carry a separate fee of €125. This is not included in the state examination fee and will need to be paid separately.
The SEC will provide detailed instructions regarding the registration and payment process through the school closer to the registration period. If you do not have online access, alternative payment arrangements will be outlined at that time.
