Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents
November 19, 2024
Good evening all,
The dark evenings are well and truly here. As we slide into the second half of November the bright lights of Christmas are ahead. With that thought in mind a reminder to parents that the fifth years are doing a collection of food stuffs in this years Mercy Beaumont Christmas food appeal. Each class is tasked with bringing in different foodstuffs that will eventually find their way to the homes of struggling families within our community. Of course it is the Mams and Dads who will be doing the shopping and if you could spare a thought for the less fortunate and donate what you can, to bring a little cheer this Christmas, that would be great!
We are also asking for any spare school jackets that your child has grown out of. We will put them to good use!
The Yoga class is still going strong and will run as normal tomorrow – 9.30-10.30am
You may have seen the google form asking if parents are interested in participating in a one off Christmas wreath making workshop. It would be great if we got as many responses as possible! Please see the previous notification on the app.
The local HSCLs from Scoil Ide, St Davids NS and SC, St Johns Of Gods NS , Donnycarney NS, St Mary’s Killester and ourselves Mercy Beaumont are hoping to get a parents walking group going in the New Year. We are excited to be rolling this out and hope that we will get a good response. Please click the link to the google Doc here if you are interested in joining in walkinglink
Ballymun library has begun a new scheme which might be of interest to parents and students alike.Library patrons aged 15 years and over can now borrow laptops on a first come, first served basis. The laptops are for use in the library only and cannot be removed from the premises. You’ll need to have your library card number and four digit PIN to borrow a laptop from our recently installed LapSafe Unit. The loan period is three hours and the device must be returned 15 minutes before the library closes.
