Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents
February 11, 2025
Good evening all! Welcome to Cyber Safety Week. The school have been very active on the topic of internet safety and the role parents/guardians and grandparents have in this too. Ms Howard and Ms Doherty created a newsletter highlighting issues around cyber safety and have created a number of tips and challenges for you and your child. There is a very interesting student survey showing the results of questions based around internet usage. This potentially could form a good basis for a discussion around students internet consumption. Please follow the link to information on cyber safety. And Ms Doherty has created a document offering both tips and challenges for this week, please follow this link
Mercy Beaumont was the starting line for the HSCLs Wednesday Morning Walk for Parents/Guardians and Grand parents. We had a very pleasant time and got some steps in with, parents mixing from all schools. Some even brought their dogs too! It all happens again tomorrow but this time for St Mary’s Holy Faith, Killester. It all kicks off at 9.15am and I will be there to encourage you along the way! New walkers are most welcome.
We had a lovely morning of making candles, creativity and chatting today. I want to say a big thank you to all who particip
ated, you are a joy to be with. I am hoping that we will do it all over again ( with some additions)next term. Watch this space!
We have a great mixture of identities, cultures and races at Mercy Beaumont. This is forms a great opportunity to learn about things that we wouldn’t normally know about. Two of our brave first year parents Faudoma and Nada have very kindly volunteered to do a cooking demonstration on Thurs, 27th of Feb. in the school kitchen. They will be demonstrating how to cook a good butter chicken and flat breads. We are hoping to have samples of the food for any one who participates and it will be happening towards the end of the first year PTM at 6.15pm. All are welcome!
Yoga Class for parents/guardians and grandparents, is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9.30am. Newcomers are always welcome! It is free of charge!
