Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents

September 30, 2025

Good evening all! We were very pleased with  the Open Evening last week, your daughters outshone themselves bringing groups of primary children around the classes, displays and workshops. Parents commented how friendly and helpful our  students are. and that they are the greatest advertisment for the school. Thanks to the parents and guardians who facilitated their daughter to help out.

Watch out for the new government Attendance campaign- ANSEO

TESS and the Department of Education have launched a national multimedia campaign to improve public awareness about the importance of attending school. The video element of the multimedia campaign is available HERE. The multimedia campaign launch coincides with the publication of the TESS Annual Attendance Report and Student Absence Report for the 2023/2024 school year. That report shows that while absenteeism remains high, total days lost, and chronic absenteeism have both fallen for the second consecutive year.  The data shows that more than one-in- five children in both primary and post-primary education are missing a month or of the school year..A Government of Ireland information webpage which collates the available  advice and services for parents and guardians is available HERE. This webpage provides direct links to TESS, the National Parents Council helpline, HSE guidance regarding illness and school attendance, NEPS (primary and post-primary) and information and resources for schools.
