Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents

Good evening all. 

With November been the month that is  traditionally set aside for the remembrance of newly lost loved ones, bearing that in mind Mr Jenkins will be organizing a Remembrance Service at 11am on  Wednesday 26th of November in the school hall. If you have lost a member of your family or your circle of friends you are cordiallly invited to participate in the service. The Parents Network will be meeting on Wednesday 26th of November after the talk on the UFirst Programme. So if you would like to meet other parents and contribute positively to the school environment, please don’t be afraid to come along. The UFirst Programme will include reference to the HEAR and Dare schemes and the SUSI grant. I would definitely recommend this talk to parents as it can be difficult to figure out what is availalbe out there. For anyone who hasn’t been to college and would like to hear more about the hows and the whys, please come along. If your daughter is in TY or fifth year , this talk will benefit you too.

We will be running a fun Christmas/festive themed craft making workshop on 3rd December 2025. We will have felting crafts, macrame, simple needle craft kits all fun and easy to put together and much much more. Donnycarney Youth Project – Family Fun Night 

Marie Holton and her hard working youth workers are running a fun night for all the family this Friday 21st Nov from 8pm until 9.30pm- there will be games, prizes, food, art and music to entertain.

Neart

This week’s episode of the Neart parents & guardians podcast explores the topic of ‘Social Media and Young People’s Mental Health for Parents & Guardians’. The webinar  will take place on Thursday evening from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The speakers will explore the relationship between social media and mental health and shares practical strategies that parents can use to support their young person to manage social media in a healthy way. The main contributors are:
