Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents

December 9, 2025

Good evening all!

A big thanks has to go out to the Parents Network who in a very short period of  time managed to get sponsorship and organise a raffle which the students(and staff) really enjoyed, last Friday at the Christmas gathering in the school hall. The prizes included   vouchers from Supervalue, chocolates perfumes, wine, personal care sets tickets for the Abbey Theatre, (a play of your choice), ice skating tickets etc. Thanks Anne Katrina, Noelle and to all the businesses that gave prizes. The monies raised will go towards school activities. And thanks to Trish for organising a slot for the chamber choir  at Northside SC . The girls added a little sprinkling of Christmas magic!

We will continue trying to harvest your generosity in that we are still collecting food items  for our famillies in need. If each student(parent/s) could contribute a non perishable item  such as a box of biscuits/chocolates/crisps or cupboard staples such as tea/coffee/cereals/rice/pasta or soft drinks etc, then we would enough to distribute to our needier families. Unfortunately it is difficult to get students to bring in food items and that can be disappointing. The  few people make up the shortfall, a few people give a lot. So please, dig deep , do what you can and send in that one item!

We had  (parents and I)a lovely couple of hours doing the Christmas crafts, chatting and eating last Wednesday. Ideas were discussed about the potential for a crafting day once a month for parents in the New Year! In me expperience being creative sets the scene for fond friendships to be formed!
