Tuesday Tips for Parents/Guardians and Grandparents.

September 29, 2026

Good evening all. We had a great Open Night/Evening last Thursday with plenty of interest shown by prospective pupils from a very wide catchment area. Thanks to the parents who helped out on the day- Ann, Maria and Katrina! And thanks to you parents who sent your daughter in to help out too- they were most impressive, radiating enthusiasm and enjoyment to all!

The Parents Association Annual General Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 7.30pm in the library. So all our parents are welcomed to attend the meeting and if you have any questions these will be answered during the course of the evening. and if you would like to join the steering committee itself please come along and make yourself known. There tends to be a dearth of volunteers for this, but we would love to have some fresh faces. and it is a good way to get to know other parents.

Community Life

As a school community we are aware of some challenges that famillies face. The loss of a parent or grandparent can be devastating for all, but particularily a young person at the adolescent developmental stage of life.

Thanks Lorraine Ryan for sending on information about some of the various services in the community that offer support during bereavement or seperation trauma including Rainbows  and Barnardos who offer great support away from school. Just click the links to find out more information. The Artane Resource Centre offers the Rainbow programme too. And they also run the following free of charge.

  • Workshops

  • Adult Education

  • Affordable Counselling

  • Community Café (last Friday of every month and it’s FREE)

  • Parent and Toddler Group

  • Photocopying

  • C.V building

  • Use of public computers
