Dear Parents, welcome back for more tips and notices from Mercy Beaumont.

Thanks to all the parents who came to the PTM and the Parents Network last week. We appreciate it is not easy to juggle work and home life And thank to those parents who attended the workshop on photoshop run by Mr Hyland. They all enjoyed it and there will be another workshop following on after the midterm.

I made a visit to Whitehall College yesterday with some parents who were inquiring after courses that could help them enhance their current skill set and open up their employment prospects. Whitehall college not only takes in school leavers but it has courses for adults wanting to change job, get back into the workplace or develop an interest or as an entry into university. The entry requirement vary but mature students are assessed through interview. 

Whitehall College of Further Education offer day courses to school leavers and mature students.  The courses run for approximately 9 months; this facilitates the development of good practical skills, personal development and depth of learning.  The majority of courses at Whitehall College offer the learner the opportunity to achieve a major QQI award at level 5 or level 6. If you are curious, they are running an Open Day on the 11th of March from 10am -3pm. 

City of Dublin FET College, Dhúlaigh, invites prospective students, families and friends to our Information Evening on Wednesday, 4th March, from 3.00 to 7.00 pm, at our Coolock Campus, Barryscourt Road.With more than 70 courses available, FET College Dhúlaigh offers a wide range of study options, including PLC courses at QQI Levels 5 and 6, Higher National Diplomas, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, BTEI, and BA Honours Degrees.

City of Dublin FET College Plunket offers full-time Level 5 and Level 6 programmes. The College also offers part time courses to meet learner needs.  Upon successful completion, courses may enable graduates to go directly into employment, to progress to further education and training including Traineeships and Apprenticeships, to become self-employed and to progress to Third-Level programmes.

Parents Club 

Yoga class continues on Tuesdays at 10.30- 11.30. It remains quite under utilised by parents/guardians/grandparents. So please dont feel shy about joining in with the group! The students love to see their parents come into school!

Artificial Intelligence Workshop will take place next Wednesday 11th of Feb at 11.05am in room 34. If you are free and are interested in finding out more about it and how you can use AI practically on your everyday, please come along. Mr Ozalip will be leading the class.

Sligo Education Centre are running a free webinar to help parents interact with the Irish language. This is an Irish language course for parents celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge. Join to explore different ideas to promote Gaeilge in your home. This fun course will highlight the Gaeilge resources and supports and lots of information will be discussed throughout the workshop. All levels of Gaeilge are welcome to attend!

School Uniforms

Because of the high volume of families in need ,we  would gratefully receive any donations of second hand school jackets, jumpers, blouses , skirt/ trousers and , pe outfits. Just drop them into the HSCL room at Mercy Beaumont.
