TY1 & TY2 STEM Day at DCU – March 4th, 2025
March 5, 2025
On Tuesday, March 4th, our TY1 and TY2 students attended an inspiring STEM Day at
Dublin City University (DCU). The visit offered valuable insights into STEM subjects,
university life, and future academic pathways.
The day began with an introductory session, where students learned about DCU’s
courses, departments, and student experience. They participated in a Q&A session
and a short quiz, with small prizes awarded.
Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive STEM workshops, including
Engineering & Robotics, Science & Innovation, and Mathematical Thinking. These
hands-on sessions encouraged problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork.
In the afternoon, students gathered in DCU’s largest lecture hall to hear from current
students about university life and career opportunities. The session ended with a
Kahoot competition, where winners received small prizes. A short campus tour
wrapped up the experience, which ended around half past two.
A special thank you to our teachers for supervising the trip and to DCU staff,
especially Aiden, for hosting such a fantastic learning experience.
This visit provided an exciting glimpse into STEM education and university life, inspiring
our students as they consider their future studies and careers.
