Our Senior Rugby team took part in the Dublin Metro 7s finals Thursday
13th November. In what was a strong field of talented teams from across
Dublin, our girls came out as champions, winning the Dublin phase for
the first time and qualifying to the Leinster finals in the process.
Led by team captain Mandy Quadri, vice captains Laura Horba, Sandy
Quadri and Holly Harbourne Doyle, the team were relentless in their
pursuit of victory, beating two strong teams in the group phase in Loreto
Dalkey and Swords Community College to progress to the final where
they met St Andrews.
The ladies started off strong, scoring their first try through Teni Onigbode
and taking control of the game from there, running in 7 tries in total, with
Holly Harbourne Doyle converting each of the 7 tries to add on the extra
points, and holding St Andrews to only 2 tries to emerge winners.
Mandy Quadri accepted the trophy with a gracious speech, allowing
celebrations to begin with the school becoming Dublin champions for the
first time.
Player of the tournament was given to Teni Onigbode for her stellar
performances throughout.
